You and I are Christians because someone once upon a time told us about Jesus. I learned about Jesus for the first time from Alma Gierke, a Sunday School teacher at Bethlehem United Church of Christ. By vocation, Alma and her husband were farmers. On Sunday morning, Alma was a teacher of our pre-school class at Bethlehem United Church of Christ. Alma did not have a college education. I would not be surprised if she hadn't even graduated form high school But she had convictions. And she loved Jesus. And she told me and the rest of my class about Jesus.

I just returned from a montly board meeting at Hope House.
The name, 'Hope House' is a perfect description of the ministry that is provided for the homeless of Manitowoc County. As I write this, fourteen individuals refer to Hope House as being their home. Three families are on a waiting list.
