The Two Rivers Ecumenical Pantry exists to serve the basic food needs of our residents in Two Rivers and Mishicot. The food pantry is primarily staffed by volunteers. Having been organized by the members of our churches, the food pantry continues to rely upon the generosity of those who attend our congregations. A collection box for food items is located in the Gathering Area of our church. Cash donations are enthusiastically received. Checks should be made payable to Grace Congregational Church. The Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network (LIHN) is an organization of churches and civic-minded citizens who address the needs of the homeless in Manitowoc County . Churches throughout our county provide evening housing and meals for the guests of the Lakeshore Interfaith Hospitality Network. A day center, located in Manitowoc , assists individuals with job searches, transportation to work and school, and medical treatment. Grace Congregational Church is a host congregation.
Habitat For Humanity has had an affiliate in Two Rivers and Manitowoc since 1989. The office for our local affiliate is in the First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc . Crop Walk.On the first Sunday of October, the ecumenical churches of Two Rivers host a CROP Walk in order to raise money for the local food pantry and the needs of Church World Service.
Two Rivers Ecumenical Ministry is an organization of ecumenical ministry in Two Rivers. The purpose of the ministry is to work together for the common good of Jesus Christ in our community. The ecumenical ministry supports the following events: Thanksgiving worship, the Food Pantry, Lay School of Theology, the CROP Walk, Choir concerts, mid-week Lenten worship services, grief support, and youth rallies.
Through the year, the Mission Board of Grace Congregational Church strives to respond to community and family needs that we are aware of. Our support of special local and regional causes also includes the Domestic Violence Center of Manitowoc County, St. Benedicts Center in Milwaukee , the Department of Human Services, Sunday Suppers, the Salvation Army and the Sisters of St. Joseph. Frequent announcements encourage the support of these important agencies.
